Quilted Leather Lola Workshop with Monica Bernstine - July 26 & 27, 2025

CLASS DESCRIPTION:
The Quilted Leather Lola Workshop is going to be just as fun as the Leather Louie Class we hosted with Monica last year! During this 2 Day class you will be cutting out the Lola Handbag from Swoon Sewing Patterns. All of your materials will be provided! There will be an assortment of leather hides to choose from. You will then get a coupon to shop for your class materials from the More Me Know warehouse! Foam interfacing will be pre-cut and base stabilizer will be provided in the classroom!
There will be shared templates provided but if you would like to you can bring pre-cut pattern pieces for you to use.
You will then get hands-on experience with skiving leather using a Thor Skiver! Once your bag is cut and skived you will be quilting the exterior! The example photo is showing embroidery but we will not be embroidering the panels. Monica will also be showing how to do a hidden strap connector using the template from JoLeeLee Creations (which you will get to take home)! We will also be doing an embellished crossbody strap with leather accents.
The pattern is not included in the cost of this class and will need to be purchased.
Monica will be providing a print out of the instructions with her notes for you to take home!
There will be an optional pay on your own group dinner at Dewey's Pizza on Friday at 5:30pm. Dewey's is conveniently located across the parking lot from the TownePlace Suites Hotel in O'Fallon IL!

SKILLS REQUIRED:
Some basic sewing knowledge is REQUIRED. I will not be here to teach you to completely sew but I will be there to go over industrial machine basics, etc.
You do NOT need to know how to use an industrial for this workshop. We will be here to help!
MATERIALS REQUIRED:
You are NOT required to bring any materials with you to class! The class includes all of your hardware and materials. If you would like to print and cut your pattern pieces ahead of time you can. However, templates for students to share will be provided.
WHAT WE OFFER WITHIN THE CLASSROOM:
We provide the machines, a wide variety of thread choices, needles, clips, rulers, thread snips, lighters, screw drivers, glue, duct tape, DST, hole punches, rivet presses, ironing station, and a heat press station.
We plan to provide a catered lunch on both days of the class. If you have dietary needs please let us know in the notes of your ticket or in an email. We want to ensure that you are as comfortable as possible within our space.

We have a room block with Towneplace Suites in O'Fallon
The price of the ticket does not include any travel, airfare or rides to and from said locations. These are your responsibility.

Our goal is to provide a stress-free class space to learn bagmaking. We do not want any students to feel rushed or like they weren't able to get their questions answered.
