March 9-10 2024

10 AM - 5 PM (Building will be closing for the last participant by 5:45)

This is a TWO DAY Workshop!

Hi! I'm Erica-Lee Helgerson, the designer behind Lavender & Twine. I live in the Pacific Northwest with my husband and cat designing new patterns and enjoying life. I've been sewing for 25 years, making bags for 7 years and designing patterns for 4 years. If I'm working with my hands creating something, then I'm happy. I also love visiting the desert, having meaningful conversations with people that I connect deeply with, and anything to do with space, ghosts, or nature. I'm so excited to be teaching my first class at Sew Whatever Studio in March!

In this two day class you will be sewing The Vadon Bag! The class kit is included in the price of the ticket. It will be precut and ready to sew! We will go over how to use the industrials and then dive right in!

This bag is incredibly well thought out and so gorgeous! Erica is a wealth of knowledge in bagmaking and we are so excited for you to take this class!

Feel free to also bring some pre-cut Lavender & Twine patterns if you finish your Vadon Bag early.

Some basic sewing knowledge is REQUIRED.  I will not be here to teach you to completely sew but I will be there to go over industrial machine basics, etc.

You do NOT need to know how to use an industrial for this workshop. We will be here to help!

A custom bag tag of your choice and a pair of smooth plated pliers. We will provide your class kit pre-cut! You are required to purchase the pattern as it is not included with the class.

We provide the machines, a wide variety of thread choices, needles, clips, rulers, thread snips, lighters, screw drivers, glue, duct tape, DST, hole punches, rivet presses, ironing station, heat press station.

We plan to provide a catered lunch on both days of the class. If you have dietary needs please let us know in the notes of your ticket or in an email. We want to ensure that you are as comfortable as possible within our space.

We have secured a room block with a rate of $114 a night from Friday-Monday.

The price of the ticket does not include any travel, airfare or rides to and from said locations. These are your responsibility.

If you have any questions at all before purchasing your ticket please let us know!

Our goal is to provide a stress-free class space to learn bagmaking. We do not want any students to feel rushed or like they weren't able to get their questions answered. We have worked tirelessly to make sure this is a safe and welcoming space to all who enter. <3 We thank you for your trust and support and cannot wait to see you there!
