I don't know if bag patterns have different standards, but this one fails by a lot of mine. I've been sewing from commercial and indie patterns for nearly 15 years now. Typically, patterns have the same seam allowance on all pieces, this does not. Typically, pattern pieces are labeled with letters or numbers to streamline the instructions. This pattern uses long multi-word names that clog up the page and are still confusing. Some pieces have letter shorthand, but only a few, and the instructions don't use them.
There are also way too many pieces. You don't need to make separate pieces for the interfacing of every single piece. It is common convention to have a line in the instructions or on the pattern pieces themselves , telling you to cut the seam allowances off the interfacing. Having 20+ pieces, most of which are just slightly different rectangles, made cutting things out a major headache. Also, there are no pictures of the different bag styles, so you kind of have to guess what the differences are.
The zipper overlay pocket instructions were so incomprehensible that I threw them out and did it my own way. I am a professional seamstress and I was so frustrated with this I almost threw the whole project away. I can't imagine attempting this pattern as a beginner. I have not looked at any other patterns from this site, but I can't imagine them being any different. This pattern needs major reworking.

Lauren is a genius at her patterns. They are well written, easy to follow, and most importantly timeless designs. Uber functional and so much room for creativity with the different main and accents!
