Snacks will be provided for this class. However, there will be no full meal.
ABOUT THE CLASS:
In this class Fran will be going over the Annabelle Handbag by SiahSwag and the different ways that she has made it. She will give options and provide pattern pieces she uses to alter the pattern. These include handle options, exterior changes and lining pocket changes. She will also go over how she adds boning to the zipper panel to change the shape a bit! If you would like to use boning it will be available to use.
On Day 1, you will be cutting the bag out during class to personalize it to your liking. We will begin sewing it before class ends.
On Day 2, you will finish sewing the bag.

ABOUT THE TEACHER:
Fran began hand sewing clothes for her dolls at age 7 and then machine sewing garments for herself by age 12. About 25 years ago she became interested in Machine Embroidery and Digitizing software which led to the beginning of her teaching career in the sewing/embroidery field. She earned a Bachelor of Music Degree and a Masters in Secondary Education degree in RI, teaching music in the public schools for 30 years. Fran is a Professional Clarinetist and a retired Middle School, High School and College Band Director.
Fran moved to Winter Garden with her husband, Leland, 8 years ago to enjoy the warmth and work at Disney World, which has led to her latest career selling Sewing machines and Teaching at the Sewing Studio Fabric Superstore in FL. A few years ago she became a “Sewlution Expert” for Embroidery and for Sergers from BABYLOCK. She has been teaching Machine Embroidery, Serging, and Bag Construction with Industrial machines at the Sew Magical Expo in Orlando, Texas and Tennessee, OSQE in Lakeland and at the Sew Whatever Summit in Illinois.
As the owner and creator of “FAB Designs” (featuring Custom handmade items), Fran started creating and constructing Bags about 6 years ago on a Juki Straight Stitch Machine. With all the beautiful Vinyl and leather options she moved up to an Industrial Cylinder Arm.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
You do not need any industrial experience to come to our classes. We will be there to go over the ins and outs of using the machines!
MATERIALS REQUIRED:
No materials are required for this class! You will receive a coupon to shop the MMK Warehouse for all that you need for your bag. There is a coupon code that will be provided for you to purchase the pattern.
WHAT WE OFFER WITHIN THE CLASSROOM:
We provide the machines, a wide variety of thread choices, needles, clips, rulers, thread snips, lighters, screw drivers, glue, duct tape, DST, hole punches, rivet presses, ironing station, heat press station.
No lunch is provided for this workshop.
ACCOMMODATIONS:
The price of the ticket does not include any travel, airfare or rides to and from said locations. These are your responsibility.

Our goal is to provide a stress-free class space to learn bagmaking. We do not want any students to feel rushed or like they weren't able to get their questions answered. We understand that plans can change! If you need to cancel, we recommend first trying to sell your ticket. If there’s a waitlist, we’re happy to connect you with someone interested—but please note that we cannot facilitate or guarantee any transactions. Alternatively, you may return your ticket for a refund minus a 15% processing fee.
In the event that a class is canceled, the instructor will determine whether it will be rescheduled or refunded. You’ll be notified via email, and updates will also be posted in the class Facebook group.
